Three things to check.

GymLock asks only when a feature needs access. You can change every permission later in iOS Settings.

01

Screen Time

Open App Lock Setup in GymLock, allow Screen Time access, then use Apple's picker to choose apps or categories to shield.

02

Notifications

Enable notifications for workout reminders, rest timers and optional gym-arrival alerts. GymLock still works if you decline.

03

Location

Only needed for gym detection. Save your gym and allow “Always” location so an arrival reminder can work with GymLock closed.

Common questions.

My selected apps are not being blocked

App shielding runs only while a GymLock workout is active.

  1. Open GymLock → App Lock Setup and confirm at least one app or category is selected.
  2. Open iPhone Settings → Screen Time and make sure Screen Time is on.
  3. Return to GymLock, start a workout, then test one selected app.
  4. If it still opens, restart your iPhone and reselect the apps in GymLock.

Some system apps cannot be shielded because of Apple's platform rules.

I do not get a gym-arrival alert
  1. Open iPhone Settings → GymLock → Location and choose Always with Precise Location on.
  2. Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → GymLock and allow notifications.
  3. In GymLock, confirm your gym pin and notification setting are still enabled.
  4. Leave the monitored area before testing a fresh arrival. iOS may deliver background geofence events after a short delay to save battery.
My Live Activity is missing

Open iPhone Settings → GymLock and allow Live Activities. Start a workout in GymLock, then lock the phone. Low Power Mode, system limits or a recently restarted phone can temporarily delay the activity.

My workouts or Fuel data did not sync

Make sure you are signed into the same GymLock account and have a working internet connection. Keep GymLock open briefly so it can finish syncing. If the newer device is empty, avoid logging new data on both devices until the first sync completes. Contact support before deleting or reinstalling the app if important data is missing.

I paid but Pro is not active

Make sure you are signed into the GymLock account used when you purchased. In GymLock, open the subscription screen and tap Restore Purchases. You must also be signed into the same Apple Account used for payment. If Pro still does not unlock, email support with the approximate purchase time—never send full payment details.

How do I cancel a subscription?
  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  3. Choose GymLock and tap Cancel Subscription.

You keep Pro until the paid period ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Apple, not GymLock, processes billing.

How do I request a refund?

Apple controls App Store charges and refund decisions. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose “Request a refund” and select GymLock.

How do I delete my account and data?

In GymLock, open Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps. This deletes your GymLock account and associated cloud data. It does not cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel that separately first. If you cannot access the app, email support@gymlock.co from the account email.

Can I change my username?

Open your Profile in GymLock and edit your username. Usernames must be unique. If the one you want is unavailable, choose another variation.

What happens when I leave the leaderboard?

GymLock requests deletion of your leaderboard row, including the shared handle, scores and coarse location fields. Your private account and training history remain available to you.
